A Little Wild One Is on the Way — Keri + Dalvis's Jungle Baby Shower
Y'all. This one was something else entirely!!
Keri and Dalvis hosted their jungle themed baby shower here at The PHNX back in June and honestly, from the moment we walked in and saw what their decorator had done, we were completely speechless. Full sized stuffed giraffes and lions. Monkeys hanging from trees. Lush greenery covering every single table. Animal print backdrops everywhere you looked. Every corner of that room had been thought through and the detail was just absolutely unreal!!
We have hosted a lot of events in this space. This one stopped us in our tracks.
The Room
What makes a transformation like this work is space, and The PHNX gives you a lot of it. The main hall is 75 by 35 feet with 28 foot ceilings, which means there is actual room to go big. Full sized stuffed animals do not work in a cramped banquet hall. Hanging installations need height. Keri and Dalvis's decorator used every single inch of it and the result felt less like a decorated party room and more like you had actually stepped into the jungle. It was that good!!
The covered patio gave guests room to spill outside, catch up, and breathe between the games and the food. Which from what we heard was very much appreciated!!
The Games
Their guests were not just sitting around waiting for gifts to be opened. There were games that had the whole room going! Guessing how many animal crackers were in the jar, baby trivia to get to know Keri and Dalvis better, and blindfold diapering a stuffed animal that we can only imagine was absolutely chaotic in the best possible way!!
That kind of energy where everyone is laughing and a little competitive and genuinely having a good time is what separates a great shower from a forgettable one. This one was definitely not forgettable!!
The Cake
We have to talk about the cake!!
A safari tier cake with an elephant on top, surrounded by little animals, sitting right in the middle of a jungle themed room. It was the kind of cake you genuinely feel bad cutting into. Cakes by Elise made something that belonged in a magazine and we are still thinking about it!!
Keri and Dalvis
Keri was absolutely glowing from start to finish and Dalvis was soaking every single second of it in. You could just feel how loved this little one already is and he has not even arrived yet!! That is the thing about showers done right. They are not just parties. They are a room full of people showing up and saying we see you, we love you, and we cannot wait for this baby!!
That is exactly what this one was!!
